These hand-made Yixing teapots are imported from Jiang Xi province in the south of China. They are made from special Zi Sha (purple clay).
Yixing teapots are unique in that the inside is never glazed. Over time the flavour of the tea is absorbed into the pot, making the tea brewed in it taste rich and mellow. It is recommended that only one type of tea be used in each yixing teapot. It is said that after many uses, you can brew tea in an Yixing teapot without adding any tea leaves.
