This selection of tea leaves is imported directly from China and includes high quality jasmine, green and pu-er tea leaves. All tea is freshly packed and sealed and comes with an elegantly decorated re-usable tin Chinese teabox (may vary from picture).

Green tea: Green tea is a powerful anti-oxidant reducing the level of free radicals causing cell damage, the origins of breast cancer and prostate cancer. In 1994 the Journal of the National Cancer Institute published results indicating that drinking green tea reduced the risk of esophageal cancer in men and women by nearly sixty percent. Researchers recently concluded that a compound in green tea inhibits the growth of cancer cells. Research also indicates that drinking green tea lowers cholesterol levels.

Jasmine tea: This kind of tea is made by mixing fragrant flowers in the tea leaves in the course of processing. Jasmine tea is responsible for lowering blood pressure and cholesterol level, regulating aging, reducing stress, preventing certain cancers and strengthening the immune system among other positive impacts. In Japan, researchers found that there were fewer incidents of heart disease among jasmine tea drinkers. They also found that jasmine tea significantly lowers blood pressure and protects against hypertension.

Pu-er tea: For centuries Pu-er tea was given as tribute to Chinese Emperors and high ranking officials. Unlike other kinds of tea, due to the frementation process, Pu-er improves with age. So the longer you keep it, the better it tastes! It is a perfect counter to oily and fatty foods and it's an excellent digestion aid due to its ability to break down fat. Pu-er tea is also said to help clean the intestines and is often used for stomach pains, hangovers, blood circulation, aiding weight loss and detoxifying the body. Sold in large pressed 'cakes' or small pieces, the leaves can be brewed many times over without loss in taste.
