History
Its origins lie in the soothing herbal balm prepared for Chinese emperors who had suffered from various aches and pains.
Ancient Chinese herbalists and healers used it for their patients as a pain remedy made from natural ingredients.
It was developed in recent times by herbalist Aw Chu Kin, who lived in Rangoon, Burma. Due to Burma's tropical climate and regular monsoons, people suffered from heat and mosquito bites. To help them, Aw Chu Kin studied various types of local effective remedies and discovered that the blending of various active ingredients - including camphor, clove and menthol - brought relief.
